Stephen F. Horgan, BBA (1978), BA (1979) & LLB (1982)
Stephen Horgan was born in Saint John and attended local schools before graduating with high honours from St. Malachy’s Memorial High School in 1974.
Having completed his undergraduate degree in business administration and arts (economics) and his law degree at the University of New Brunswick, Stephen was admitted as a member of the Law Society of New Brunswick in February 1983. He is also a member of the Saint John Law Society and the Canadian Bar Association.
Stephen has carried on a general private practice in Saint John since 1983 representing a wide range of individual and corporate clients. He has appeared on behalf of clients in the Provincial Court, the Court of Queen’s Bench and the Court of Appeal. Stephen has also represented clients before various boards and tribunals.
Over the years, Stephen has volunteered for numerous charitable, sporting and business endeavours. More recently, he was appointed as a member of the Planning Advisory Committee of the City of Saint John from January 2001 to December 2009, and served as Chair from January 2007 to December 2009. Stephen was also a member of the Board of Directors of L’Arche Saint John from 2004 to 2011. L’Arche Saint John is the first L’Arche community in New Brunswick and Stephen served on the executive of the board during the challenging but highly rewarding period of the establishment of L’Arche Saint John’s first residential home in Saint John.
Stephen resides in Saint John with his wife, Christianne Vachon-Horgan.
